Why I teach Spanish (and why this is personal for me)

I grew up watching my father make friends everywhere he went. He had a natural gift: he could start meaningful conversations with anyone. People felt comfortable around him — they felt seen, heard, valued.

I admired that deeply.

Years later, two books shaped my philosophy as a teacher and communicator:
